Essay Corruption School Students

If the government wants to defeat corruption in education system, it should pay teachers more money.

Many problems influence the life of our civilization subversively. People suffer from overpopulation, poverty, unemployment, discrimination, poor education and poor access towards information and new technologies. Finally, nearly every state has the problem of severe corruption, which penetrates every field of human life. In my opinion, corruption is caused by the factors that have been enumerated above. When one suffers from the lack of resources, he tries to earn money in the most controversial way. People take advantage of their position and take money for their illegal services. For example, a poor police officer agrees to release a criminal forasmuch he needs to feed his children. Sometimes, hunger is more persuasive than morality.

Corruption touches upon every branch of life; education is not an exception. Although many developed countries have managed to reduce corruption in their education systems, there are cases that still prove its existence. Above all things, corruption exists in preschool education. Many kindergartens and schools do not accept children without a bribe. They claim that they cannot take another child whereas a school building is too small for so many students. What is more, parents have to bribe principals and other authorities to provide their children from the subordinate areas with a place at the chosen school. Sad to say but there are countries where parents bribe teachers in order to make them pay attention to the educational progress of their children. When a teacher is not encouraged, a child remains neglected.

Secondly, I would like to dwell on the marks. Every parent wants his child to receive the highest marks inasmuch as it is easier to enter a college or university if your average mark is good. Thus, teachers sell excellent marks in spite of the fact that a student’s current progress is poor. One can possess poor knowledge and finish school with the highest marks. This situation is common in the majority of the developing countries. According to the statistics, the most corruptive states are Mexico, Indonesia, India, Japan and Russia.

For example, more than 71% of Russian respondents said that they bribed teachers at least once in their life. The same answer appeared among the 60% of Indian students. It is strange to see Japan among the most corruptive economies in the system of education. It means that corruption is not always the result of low income and shortage of resources.

It will not be a mistake to claim that corruption exists in the system of higher education.

Firstly, students have to bribe the authorities of a college or university in order to enter it.

Furthermore, one has to pay teachers or present valuable items to them if he wants to get through the exams. Many teachers ask difficult questions to make students pay for the exam if they want to pass it. Hereupon, it is very difficult to graduate from a university if you do not have money.

It is interesting that corruption is tolerated in many societies. People require a diploma and nothing else. They are ready to pay a lot to receive this diploma though they know nothing from their major subjects. Corruption in education is a very dangerous problem since it ruins the value of education. Moreover, it reduces the number of professionals.

When students pass their exams for money, they do not know anything about their future occupation. As might be expected, no one will agree to go to the doctor who has never learnt anything about physiology and the constitution of the human body. Such low-qualified flight dispatchers can cause various aviation accidents that can kill hundreds of people.

Corruption is the most dangerous disease of our society. To my mind, people should primarily defeat this problem in education system. When a child sees that his parents bribe teachers, he thinks that this action is regular and acceptable. This child will copy his parents’ behavior and he will bribe everyone in order to make his life easier. If we want to cope with corruption, we should defeat it in our minds.

There are many causes of corruption in the society. Nowadays political leaders are making interest oriented programs and policies instead of nation oriented programs and policies. There is increasing level of chance in the value system in the human mind as well as decreasing ethical qualities of human being. The level of trust, faith and honesty is decreasing which gives to the corruption.

Corruption increases in India day by day because there is a strong connection between the officials, politicians and criminals who are making this country weak and so weak. India got Independence in 1947 and it was slowly becoming strong and developing but in the mid-way, the disease of corruption started and stop India to grow ahead. In India, there has been a trend of giving and take means give some money in order to get your work done whether in the government offices or private sectors offices. And today the condition is getting so worst and worst. As earlier, the money was paid for getting wrong works done or only work to be done, but currently, the money is paid for getting works done in right ways and at right time. Even after paying complete money according to the demand, there is no full chance of getting things done at the time and in right way.
